Christmas Box Project

Because I love to decorate all year round, and especially at Christmas. I decided to do a planter box. The beauty of this project, is that you can do it any size, shape or style. There are NO directions with this project. Just use your imagination and let your creative juices flow.

So, this Fall I was out at my Moms. I was in the looking at her pots and planters. She asked me if I wanted it, at the time, I was not sure. Buzzing around Pinterest, this idea hit me. My Husband was out at her house, and "borrowed" the box. If she needs it back, I will be happy to return it to her.

It was just a plain color. It took a couple of coats of green spray paint, to give it the color I wanted. I also did some wisps of gold paint. I am still not sure about the gold. I wanted it to pop.

Just a lightweight planter box

As we all know, I love to spray paint.
I so could have been a tagger. Maybe it is the defacing of property
and getting in trouble that has stopped me..

OK, you can use any color. Something that works with
your color scheme. Or just a favorite color

Two or three coats and some wisps of Gold.
You see it from the street, and that is why I want some pop

Plain old greenery.
It was stuffed into the box.

Shatterproof ornaments.
I used curling ribbon to attach everything together

Different ribbon and decorations are what added to the colors in this box
Because of where this box was going, I added color lights
White or any color would also work.
We are using all LED lights. We feel that they are
more energy efficient. My meter is not spinning out of control.

Just a simple planter box filled with greenery and ornaments.
I really like this on my porch

I updated my Christmas tree to match the box

Two years ago, I made the garland.
With the front door swag from last year
and everything else, my front porch is very inviting

AND this is my tree...
It is so beautiful this year.
The jewel tones look just beautiful

Easter Centerpiece

OK .... I robbed this idea from Pinterest. Not totally original. But it has been sitting on my kitchen table for over two weeks, and it still looks great. I am going to incorporated into my theme events throughout the year. This was fun to make and eat.... and I used a few creative juices.

This year, besides the centerpiece, I did a new wreath. There is "almost" always a wreath on my front door. It changes throughout the year. I think I like Spring the most, because of the bright colors. This winter has lasted FOREVER... I have White and Yellow Tulips and Daffodils in my front flower beds. I thought the combination of outside and my front door would be cool. Due to the crappy weather, my flowers still have not bloomed. Just ridiculous.

This my centerpiece.
It probably took longer to pick out the flowers

Just a vase inside of a vase.
Three bags of Starburst Jelly Beans. or any type you want
A package of 12 peeps. I did not need 2, so... they were consumed

Cut the fake flowers to the length I wanted.
Placed them inside the inner vase

Finished project. I like it when things pop together quickly.

These were fun to work with. They just stick together

This arrangement is by my front door.
I used colored beads for inside of this vase.
Adds some fun color
Happy Easter and/or Happy Spring

Halloween Wreath

I am not your Fall girl. I love my summer...  I know that I love to decorate for Fall. Next to Christmas, I have loads of Fall decorations. Our whole main floor and outside get the Fall and Halloween treatment. This is also why we have a Black Cat. He performs on Halloween for all of my Trick or Treaters.

Tried a different approach this year. A little more wild and carefree.

One day, I was in Michael's for the 1000th time, standing in their forever line, looking at their wreaths. I have always been able to do wreaths, just basic styling. I was not paying $45.00 for a Halloween wreath. NO way. So, I came home and down to the basement I went. Gathered some supplies and went from there. Spray paint from the garage and off to the back yard with a smile on my face.

I found this greenery garland that I had purchased at the end of the season for 80% off.

I had a 40% off coupon, that I used for the wire wreath base. It was $5.00.. and then a coupon. I did not even use any wire. Just folded the greenery around the base. EASY

And then on to my favorite part.... Spray Paint City. Over the years, I have painted SO many things. I really think I was a tagger in a former life. Once I was done painting, hung it in the garage to dry completely.

I purchased some Fall/Halloween Orange Ribbon.(with a coupon) I have seen this type of ribbon around for the last year or so. Wanted to try it, just did not take the time. I made these big loops, and wound it through the greenery and wreath.

I wrapped another smaller black metallic ribbon around for different color and texture. I purchased some glittery Halloween picks. Inserted them and I was DONE.

MY FRONT DOOR
Steal my ideas. Do this for your house. Send me your pictures. I would love to see them.
Most of ALL... Make it yourself. Get those creative juices flowing.

This is our Monster from two years ago. PVC pipes, fabrics and a mask.
This was also a blast to make.
